Templum (John), glass, 18.7'' x 11.3'' x 0.1'', 2014.

A templum is a cut in the sky made with sticks by seers in Antiquity in order to mark a sacred place on the ground. It is a piece of the sky, a sanctuary, that one can see. Here, Templum is the precise space that John would need to stand : the rectangular piece of glass shows the dimensions of his feet and his shoulders.
